As part of our induction process, we arrange a number of visits for you and your child to familiarise yourselves with the school setting and meet some of the staff who will be working with your child in September.
We invite parents to a meeting with the Reception class teacher. This gives you the chance to meet the teacher and discuss ways in which transition into school can be made as happy and relaxed as possible for your child. Even if you are already a North Hinksey family, please do use this opportunity. This is a good occasion to discuss any medical or dietary requirements. Please phone the school office to make your appointment (01865 248626) on the following dates/times:
- Thursday 6th July: 9.00am – 12 noon
- Tuesday 11th July 9.00am – 12noon, 1.00pm – 3.00pm
At this visit, please return your completed admission form to the school office.
There are two induction visits for your child:
Friday 30th June
9.30am – 10.45 am
Please come to the school office when you arrive. All families will meet in the hall then the Reception class teacher will come to collect and take the children over to the Reception classroom where they will spend time getting to know the classroom and participating in activities. Whilst the children are spending time in the classroom, parents are invited to remain in the Hall for a meeting with Mrs Pearce (Headteacher). After this the HSA (Home School Association) will provide teas and coffees and parents are invited to stay for an informal chat.
Wednesday 5th July
9.30am – 10.45am
This is the second opportunity for children to spend time in the classroom and participate in activities. Please drop your children off at the school office, and collect from the classroom at 10.45am. The Fishes on North Hinksey Lane is open at this time for breakfast and coffees.
There will also be the opportunity to order school book bags and sweatshirts for your child at these visits, please bring cash or a cheque book.
